The Department of Music at Carleton College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Composition and Music Technology at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning September 1, 2018. We seek an individual with expertise as a composer in both acoustic and electronic music. The successful candidate will teach classroom courses in music composition using notated and electronic means, music technology, and music theory, in addition to individual composition lessons. They will have teaching experience at the college/university level, and will be committed to innovative teaching and cross-disciplinary curricular and co-curricular exploration. We seek an individual dedicated to excellent teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts environment, who welcomes opportunities to work with a diverse student body, and who is committed to establishing collegial relationships with faculty and students across the college and the community.

We invite applications from individuals who have an active profile in composition and related research, and who have built a strong professional portfolio. A D.M.A. or Ph.D. in hand, or completion by September 1, 2018, is required.
